Titel: Busch uttrycker ingen åsikt om förbud mot koranbränning

Ebba Busch, leader of the Christian Democrats, criticizes ”foreign powers” who ”want to strengthen their positions and spread their ideologies”. In her summer speech on Sunday, she argues that Sweden is being used as a pawn in a game.

”It would be wrong to say that we are powerless. We are not. How we act when we are threatened defines who we are – but perhaps more importantly, who we will become,” says Busch in her speech, which is being broadcast on social media.

She also addresses the demands for Sweden to ban Quran burnings, which she claims come from ”Islamic dictatorships” but also from opinion leaders in Sweden.

”They do not want anyone to mock and criticize a religion. That is not compatible with a modern society,” she says.

Busch also mentions the decision to review the Public Order Act and says that the government is appointing an investigation from a total defense perspective.

”As a party, we will not support anything that would come close to a de facto ban on Quran burnings – or other offensive expressions. That is also the line we will monitor in the parliamentary reference group,” says Busch.
