Fontänen som sprutade från toaletten

Andreas Solhemmer and his wife were watching a movie in their basement when it began to flood. It took two and a half hours for the fire department to remove all the water. Andreas jokingly mentioned that it would have been fun to have a swimming pool in the basement, but not with this water. The incident occurred in Tösse, outside of Åmål, and was reported by the SVT Värmland.

Andreas heard a gushing sound and went downstairs to find water flowing out of the toilet. He called his wife for help and they tried to salvage what they could by using towels and a boot. However, their efforts were in vain.

After turning off the power and enduring a few electric shocks while moving items in the water, the family used submersible pumps to remove some of the water before the local rescue team arrived. After two and a half hours, most of the water was gone.

When contacted by Aftonbladet, Andreas mentioned that it had been almost a day since the flooding occurred and they were still mopping up the remaining water. They were waiting for the insurance company to assess the damage and determine if they would receive compensation for their belongings.

Andreas shared that his daughter was devastated as she lost everything just before starting college. The only thing they managed to save was an IKEA bag that floated in the water.

Andreas mentioned that this was not the first time the area had experienced flooding. They live in an area where rainwater does not drain properly and often ends up flooding their house. Despite the situation, Andreas remained positive and said it was pointless to cry over spilled milk. He jokingly added that having a swimming pool in the basement would have been nice, but not with this kind of water.

The family was seen wading through the water in the pictures provided.
