Heléne Fritzon, a prominent member of the Swedish Social Democratic Party (S), has been revealed to have had several meetings with technology company Thorn in Brussels. Thorn has been lobbying heavily for the controversial proposal Chat Control 2.0, which could present significant business opportunities. Fritzon, who holds a leading role in the European Parliament, has defended the proposal in relation to the fight against child pornography. However, it has been discovered that she held meetings with Thorn prior to publicly advocating for the proposal. Fritzon has justified these meetings as a way to gather different perspectives. The revelations come amidst controversy surrounding fellow Swedish EU Commissioner Ylva Johansson, who has faced criticism for her collaboration with Thorn on the Chat Control 2.0 proposal.
