Mer i kö än vad? Och vad för hjälp når Gaza?

Israel, Egypt, and the United States have agreed to open the Rafah border crossing to allow a convoy of about 20 trucks filled with humanitarian aid into Gaza. However, many more trucks are still waiting on the other side of the border. Eyewitnesses estimate that there are around 150 trucks queued at the Rafah crossing, which is the only entrance to Gaza not controlled by Israel. According to the Red Crescent in northern Sinai, there are more than 200 trucks waiting. The trucks contain thousands of tonnes of supplies for the war-torn area, where aid workers are sounding the alarm that the current reserves are running out. The United Nations’ top humanitarian chief, Martin Griffiths, has stated that about 100 trucks are needed per day to meet the needs of Gaza. Israel has said that only food, water, and medicine should be allowed and not fuel, for example.
