Johan Floderus, a 33-year-old Swedish man, has been detained in Iran for over 550 days. His family in Kungälv, Sweden, is growing increasingly desperate with each passing day. Johan was on vacation in Iran when he went missing, and it took several days for his family to confirm that he had been arrested by Iranian authorities. Initially, the family was advised to keep his disappearance secret in an attempt at quiet diplomacy. Johan has been held in total isolation for the majority of his detention and has been kept in the notorious Evin Prison in Tehran. Communication with him has been limited and monitored. Johan’s family and friends have decided to make his case public in the hope of raising awareness and putting pressure on Iranian authorities for his release.
