Clostridium is a bacteria that can cause food poisoning, resulting in nausea, stomach pains, and watery diarrhea. It can be found in water and food that has been cooked and then allowed to cool too slowly.
The Region of Gotland has announced that there are reports of contaminated water, and, as a precautionary measure, residents are advised to boil the water before drinking or using it for cooking. This applies to residents in the following areas:
- Visby
- Vibble/Väskinde
- Själsö
- Brisund
- Västerhejde
- Tofta
- Västergarn
