A large police operation is ongoing in Upplands Väsby after a man in his 30s was shot in a property on Tuesday evening.

The man was hit by one or more shots fired through a window by a perpetrator outside the townhouse where the man was located.

”We received several calls at 10:31 from people who were in the property and had witnessed the shooting, and we believe that the man has been hit by one or more shots fired from outside through a glass window in the front door or a side window in the door, it has not been determined yet, but the shots have hit the victim,” said Ola Österling, press spokesperson for the Stockholm police.

The injured man managed to alert the police and is not in critical condition, but was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

During the shooting, several family members were reportedly in the residence, but no one else was injured.

An extensive police operation is underway in the area, but as of midnight, no one had been arrested for the attempted murder.

”No one has been arrested and at this point, I cannot comment on whether we have any suspects, but we assume that the incident is in one way or another linked to criminal networks,” said Ola Österling.
