En ny skogsterminal öppnar i Härjedalen – med planerat passage för 200 tåg med virke varje år

Inlandsbanan and the logistics company Loadex are behind the initiative. The idea is to improve the transportation of forestry products from Härjedalen to the market, as well as to reduce truck transport in favor of trains.

According to the two companies, about 200 trains will be unloaded and loaded at the terminal each year, which would lead to a reduction in diesel consumption of approximately 1 million liters per year.

The terminal had its official inauguration on Tuesday. Watch the video above to see the trains being loaded with timber.
