Cemvision: 95% reduction in CO2 emissions in cement production

Cemvision claims to be able to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 95 percent compared to regular cement production. Now, state-owned mining giant LKAB has signed a contract with the cement manufacturer.

Cemvision has built a pilot plant in southern Poland. So far, production is modest, but the company has big plans to significantly increase production, writes TT.

The contract with LKAB is the first commercial agreement, with deliveries on a smaller scale expected to start in March.

Cement production is among the most climate-emitting industries, accounting for eight percent of global emissions.

The owners behind Cemvision are Norrsken, EQT, and Breakthrough Energy. Here is the latest news on climate change – every day.
