The investigation ”Children and young people in society’s care” was recently handed over to the government. There are 130 proposals for measures to improve the care of children.
An effort that the government has already begun, according to Minister for Social Services Camilla Waltersson Grönvall (M).
”If a set of tools that the government is now working with had been in place for a long time, I think we could have stopped the development of children and young people being recruited into criminal networks a long time ago,” she says.
15 different caseworkers
SVT News has investigated the social services’ efforts for 16-year-old Tim, who was recruited into the gang war. He was moved eleven times in two years and had contact with at least 15 different caseworkers at the social services.
”Every child in this situation is of course a failure for society,” says Camilla Waltersson Grönvall.
