– They do not appear in our systems at all, says Michael Svanström, building permit manager in Kalmar municipality.
The building permit cases that were under processing or waiting to be processed when the IT attack occurred in Kalmar municipality do not appear in the building permit unit’s system.
– Anyone who has submitted a building permit in connection with the cyber attack should resend them via email or paper, especially if it is an urgent matter.
Unusually high number of building permits received
Right now, the entire building permit unit’s operations are affected, and the cases that can be handled are limited, and the pile of building permit applications coming in is growing larger.
– There is an unusually high number of applications that have come in. There are about 40 unprocessed building permits that we cannot see, but if we consider all the ongoing processings, there are many more.
While waiting for the systems to start functioning again, the unit has begun working on alternative solutions to handle the situation.
– We have created our own excel files to organize everything. But it is far from ideal. We will have to see when we can start working as usual again, I cannot answer when that will be, says Michael Svanström.
