Sagström, whose game struggled significantly from her opening ball, sank the long eagle putt on the closing 18th hole and the concerned expression was replaced by a big smile.
Instead of being tied for sixth, five shots behind Patty Tavatanakit, Sagström is now alone in second place just three shots back, -13 to -16, as they head out in the final group early Sunday morning.
Started with two birdies
It started perfectly for the Swede with two birdies, but then her game started to falter while Tavatanakit played exceptionally well in the oppressive heat.
After her second bogey on the seventh hole, Sagström suddenly found herself six shots behind her playing partner Tavatanakit, who excelled and made an eagle on the seventh, bringing her to -6 for the day.
Heading into the third round, Sagström, Tavatankit, and Sei Young Kim were tied for the lead at -10.
