Ishockey: Björklöven reducerade genom Nicholas Schilkeys solomål

– It wasn’t perfect but we fought hard. We haven’t lost faith and have gained a greater hope. We pressed on and must continue to do so and continue to win. Now we have to do the job away as well, says Schilkey to TV4 Play while fans are celebrating loudly.

There was a hysterical atmosphere in the final seconds but Björklöven managed to hold on and the yellow-green scarves were waved in the arena.

It was win or go home for ”Löven” in Umeå tonight.

Djurgården was pushing to equalize when Nicholas Schilkey got hold of the puck and skated up the left side. When he entered the offensive zone, he cut to the right and got past the Djurgårds defense and was able to score 3-1 in the middle of the third period.

Nerves after Rensfeldt’s reduction

However, there was tension when Djurgården’s Ludvig Rensfeldt gained speed and shot a hard shot that Niklas Svedberg couldn’t save, making it 3-2. After that, a shaken Löven was heavily pressured as Djurgården went for an equalizer.

In a last attempt to equalize, Djurgården pulled out goalkeeper Viktor Andrén, who made a fantastic save with his glove after a scramble in the final minutes.

The next match will be played in Stockholm on Tuesday.
