Louise Hansson’s younger sister Sophie, 25, did not have as successful a Monday as her two-year-older sister.
About half an hour after Louise’s final, she swam the semifinal in the 100-meter breaststroke.
Celebrated big sister’s success
She started strong and was in second place after 50 meters, but lost ground in the second half and finished fifth. She missed the final by twelve hundredths. Her time was 1:06.78.
”I think it feels good and it doesn’t feel like I collapsed, but that little extra isn’t there right now,” said Sophie Hansson, who was of course disappointed to miss the final – but celebrated her big sister’s success.
”I really have to dry my tears and go and celebrate her,” she said.
